Food Microbiology Research Laboratory

The Food Microbiology Research Laboratory was established in order to support the contents of General Microbiology, Food Microbiology and Food Safety courses being taught in the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics and to carry out various undergraduate project research.

In the Food Microbiology Research Laboratory, the conformity of foods and drinking water to the Turkish Food Codex and related standards is investigated and the necessary basic application trainings are given to the students in accordance with this purpose. The terms total microorganism, indicator microorganism, saprophyte microorganism, starter culture and pathogenic microorganism are taught to students using laboratory facilities. The general conditions, rules and principles of use of biological laboratories are also taught to students.
