The increase in international relations with the effect of globalization and tourism causes the importance of air transportation to increase day by day. The quality of air transportation largely depends on the quality of aircraft maintenance services. In addition, our country, which is a candidate to become one of the important centers of the world in the field of civil aviation maintenance services, has aspired to provide aircraft maintenance services to more than 100 countries. It is considered that the Turkish Civil Aviation sector, which attracts attention with its knowledge and experience, especially in Eurasia, the Middle East, Africa and the Balkans, needs aircraft maintenance technicians.

 

Aircraft maintenance services in air transportation covers fine and quality services, Basic Knowledge of Aircraft, Basic Electricity, Aircraft Maintenance Applications, Basic Electronics, Aerodynamics, Aircraft Structures and Applications, Aircraft Systems and Applications, Reciprocating Engines and Applications, Electronic Indicators and Systems, Gas Turbine Engines and Applications, Aircraft Indicators and Propeller. With this program, it is aimed to train expert staff who will work in aircraft maintenance services in the management of enterprises in the civil aviation sector.

 

The curriculum of the Aircraft Technology Program of the Vocational School of our university has also been prepared in accordance with the SHY-66 Module content determined by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation. In addition, after the content and books of the Basic Electrical-Electronics and Basic Aerodynamics courses in our program were reviewed by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, our graduates who entered in 2015 and after in order to obtain the SHY-66 Aircraft Maintenance License in all categories except for C category (A1, A2, A3, A4, B1.1, B1.2, B1.3, B1.4, B2, B3) will have Module 3 (Basic Electricity) and Module 8 (Basic Aerodynamics) credits. Thus, our students will be exempt from Module 3 and Module 8 exams by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation when they pass these courses.
